Rain definitely didn’t stop play at Durlings’ round-robin tennis event last week.
Durlings played host to more than 40 guests (including Bonnie the Jack Russell) at Tunbridge Wells Tennis Club.
In a spirited doubles contest, seven teams fought it out for a champagne prize. The event included a Wimbeldon-like rain interval which also necessitated the need to move the final from the grass to a clay court.
The final was a hard fought contest which saw Alan Treacy of Telstra International and James Penn of Marsh Green Surgery beat Mark Folley and Jonathan Miles of Wells Associates, Accountants in a 6-3 set.
Other players included Herve Back and Angela Munden, Dan Aldred and Tilly Wilson, Hugo Evoli & William Baker, Aynsley Evoli and Rupert Farrant, Jonathan Rowe & Stephen Pocock.
